Special Assembly_Veneration of St. Teresa

If you can’t do great things, do little things with great love. If you can’t do them with great love, do them with a little love. If you can’t do them with a little love, do them anyway.

These were the words of Mother Teresa, now St Theresa of Calcutta, after her canonisation on the 4th of Sept 2016. To commemorate this great event, SJBHS held a special assembly on the 16th of September, 2016.

The customary flag hoisting and school song was followed by the unveiling and garlanding of the statue of St. Teresa of Calcutta. The prayer said was the one often recited by the saint herself. An insight into the life, works, awards and accolades of Mother Teresa were shared with the congregation. The grounds resounded with the gentle voice of the Mother when one of her speeches was played through the public address system. A moments’ silence was observed to echo the prayer from each heart — a prayer for the country which the beloved saint had adopted as her very own.

The special assembly was brought to a close with Fr. Principal’s words about the ‘Saint of the Masses’ telling the students that the greatest sin is the lack of love and indifference towards the sufferings of others.
