PTA Annual General Body Meeting








A rain drenched June evening could not dampen the high spirits of the eager and enthusiastic parents attending the Annual General Body Meeting called by the PTA of St. Joseph's Boys’ High School for the academic year 2017-18.

The guest speaker of the evening, Mr. Daniel Sundaram , an eminent counsellor and educator was escorted to the auditorium by the Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. Clifford Sequiera along with the Junior School Administrator Rev. Fr. Alwyn D’Souza, the Vice Principal, Mr. Uday Kumar, and the Vice President of the PTA, Mr. Srinivas Varda.

Mrs. Mary Janet Reddy, warmly welcomed all present and called upon the Teacher’s choir of SJBHS to deliver a prayer song to invoke Almighty God' s loving presence for the evening. Our Principal in his speech, spoke about the crucial role the PTA plays bridging the gap between the students’ home and the school. The PTA’ s collaboration with the management of the school ensures a successful year all around. Father Principal expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the PTA for this. Father introduced the audience to the Guest Speaker, Mr. Daniel Sundaram who is an eminent counsellor handling students issues in everyday life. Father Principal also introduced the new Vice Principal of the school, the ever graceful, ever smiling, Mr. Uday Kumar who has given the last 30 years to service in our school.

Mr. Srinivas Varda, Vice President of the PTA read out a brief synopsis of the activities undertaken by the PTA in the last academic year. He then presented the audience with the previous academic year’s financial report of the PTA as well.

Mr. Daniel Sundaram in his speech on positive parenting, took a deep look into the soul of parenting. He urged parents to instil in their children good values to make them true global citizens, tolerant and kind. Bringing up children who finally make a difference to other people’s lives can be called truly successful individuals, he said.

The evening concluded with Mrs. Sheena Sam thanking the PTA Vice President Mr. Srinivas Varda, PTA secretaries, Mr. Anthony Praveen and Sudeshna Gosh, the management, the staff and finally the parents who took time off of their busy schedule to make the event a success.
