PTA AGM

The PTA-AGM held on July 14, 2023, marks the culmination of the events of the previous year and a new beginning of proceedings to be embarked on.

The Parent–Teacher association is an integral part of the school and is ever supportive of school events, the growth of the institution and the all-round development of the students.

The meeting commenced with a solemn invocation, bringing to the fore front the presence of the Almighty. A notice convening the meeting had been handed over to the students on the 10th of July. As per protocol, the secretary of the PTA, Ms. Priyadarshini, read the notice to the gathering.

The notice, after being proposed and seconded for approval, was followed by the reading and adoption of the Annual Report 2022—2023, again by the secretary; and the presentation of the Annual Budget by the Vice president of the PTA, Mr. Clifton Pinheiro.

The Principal of SJBHS, Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ, as the President of the PTA, welcomed the gathering of parents and teachers with a special invite to the speaker. Fr Sunil elaborated on the mutual trust, cooperation, and valuable inputs of the PTA core committee members to the development of the school. He said that no school is an island and at SJBHS, the PTA was like the wind beneath the sails!

The guest speaker for the occasion is not new to the school or to the stakeholders. Dr. Debmita Dutta (Parenting and Wellness Consultant) spoke to the gathering. She highlighted the 5P’s – Peace, Passion, Persistence, Perseverance and Prioritizing required of the present generation in order to succeed in acquiring the 5C’s – Creativity, Curiosity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration and Communication Skills which would be the armour to face the ever-changing future. Her message resonated well with the audience who asked a few questions to clear their doubts during the Q&A session. The solemn event came to an end with nominations being filed for the conception of the new PTA committee.
