God is ever so merciful and kind. It is only fitting to thank Him for His generosity and love and invoke His blessings on this new academic year.
St Joseph’s Boys’ High School observed an inter-religious prayer service on the 17th of June 2016. The Chief Guest for the day was Rev. Fr. Sandeep Menenzes. He is an old boy of our school.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by Rev. Fr. Sandeep Menezes, our Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Clifford Sequeira, our Principal, Mrs. Miriam Angelo, our Vice Principal, Rev. Fr. Rodrigues, SJ, Administrator Primary Section and the student representatives. While the lamp was being lit, Mr. Fabian White sang the Hymn: ‘Here We are to Praise You’.
Through readings from various holy scriptures, meaningful hymns and bhajans, the students invoked God’s blessings and protection for the new academic year.
Rev. Fr. Sandeep Menezes delivered a meaningful and soul - searching message on ‘A Purpose Driven Life’. In his words: “God gives us blessings so that we can be a blessing to others”. The essence of his message was: ‘To have courage to die to ourselves for the service of others’.
The whole congregation sang ‘Heal the World’ in one melodious tune. The vote of thanks was proposed bringing the curtains down on a memorable prayer service. Each individual left the auditorium feeling immensely blessed and with a purposeful mission to be accomplished.
