A Peep into the World of Medicine
The compelling CPR program that was conducted at St Joseph's Boys' High School on the 18th of August was a pivotal step in educating students about the importance of basic life supporting manoeuvres. At the prospect of a critical situation, each student has to be well-trained to deliver imperative aid at any moment.
Owing to Dr Dominic Sreshta and his wife Anita Sreshta, our students have been ensured a coherent training session on the significance of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Dr Dominic Gregory Sreshta, MD is a health care provider practicing in Sugar Land, TX, with over 31 years of experience. His specialties include Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, Other Specialty, Hospice & Palliative Medicine, Pain Medicine.
Dr Dominic, shared his reminiscence of his school years at SJBHS with the teachers and students. He narrated an incident about his friend who saved the life of his father by performing CPR at the critical moment, which inspired him to introduce this program at our school. They have equipped the school with an AED, or automated external defibrillator, which is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
The interaction with Dr Sreshta was informative and instructive. SJBHS allows for such interaction to help students to learn from former students who are experienced and knowledgeable. It paves the path for the students to understand the wide world of opportunities that they will be a part of in the near future!
