OBA BUZZ 2023

The OBA Buzz 2023 was held between July 03-07, 2023.
Our OBA Buzz team helped by their house teachers held trials over 2 weeks for students from the 7-12 grades. The numbers that turned up are listed below and the 30% increase from last year's participant numbers speaks well of our collective efforts and the excitement among the kids.

About 200 students entered the final rounds this week across grades 7-12 & 8 major events that were conducted as a potpourri of events to accommodate them in the 5 days scheduling while retaining the essence of the Buzz. This pattern has become well accepted among the students and fits in well with the school's curriculum and calendar.

The events of the final 2 days of the Buzz were held in the newly refurbished Xavier Auditorium & we were proud to be the first performers on the new stage!!

Krispy Kreme, Vee Bake, Target Career Counselling, and Shekar a parent who donated diaries deserve special mention as donors, as also 3 Old Boys who are ongoing corpus donors to the OBA Buzz and helped us generate cash prizes for the event and gift coupons as also a few other Old Boy donors who contributed for this year only.

Thanks also to all the Old Boys & Old Girls who gave off their time to come help judge the events and conduct them.

The winners for OBA Buzz 2023 are St. George’s House (85.5 points); St. Andrew’s (75.5 points) finished second; St David’s (74.5 points) finished third and St Patrick’s (44.5 points) finished fourth.

Best performances in each category were calculated using a scoring index, allotting percentage points as per numbers taking part in team events plus individual points scored.

The OBA warmly applauds all the students and thanks Fr Principal, Vice Principal & Mr. Robin Colaco for their staunch support and all the Co-ordinators and support staff who helped with all the arrangements over the 5 days.

All winners at the OBA Buzz will be preferentially selected to represent the school in the disciplines they won.
