“Prayer is the key of the morning and the bolt of the evening.” - Mahatma Gandhi

Inter-Religious Thanksgiving Prayer Service

At SJBHS, we believe in giving ‘Thanks’ ahead of ‘asking’ for favours. We believe in ‘Secularism’ as a ‘profusion of religions’ rather than the ‘absence of it’. The thanksgiving prayer service, at the beginning and end of each academic year, glorifies the oneness of God and celebrates the spirit of togetherness which makes our prayers at SJBHS an amalgamation of thoughts, deeds and actions.

The symbolic lighting of the lamp signified the light of knowledge inculcated in the students, the peace and harmony bestowed on SJBHS in the year gone by and the multifold blessings showered on the management, staff and students. The short video presentation, which left hardly a dry eye, identified with physically challenged children and highlighted their joy in spite of their sufferings – teaching the boys a wonderful lesson in empathy.

The noble art of music manifested itself through hymns and bhajans in Hindi and Kannada. Readings and reflections from the Bhagwat Gita, Quran, Guru Granth Sahib, Bible, Jain and Buddhist Scriptures as well as the intercessory prayers thanked the Almighty for His graces.

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Smitha Ranganathan, mother of Rithwik Sai Ranganathan of Std VIII, enlightened the students on the ‘Pursuit of Happiness’. The curtain call for the serene, somber and tranquil Inter-Religious Thanksgiving Prayer Service was given with a grace filled multi-faith dance.
