Farewell Assembly 2016

May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be ever at your back. May the sunshine be warm upon your face And the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the Palm of His hand.
An Irish Blessing

The 20th of January 2016 marked the last day of school for the students of Stds X & XII. A special day kept aside to reminisce and to recollect forgotten moments in their school life as they look ahead to the next chapter.

The day began with a solemn assembly, befitting for the occasion, and commenced with the hoisting of the school flag. With the unfurling of the flag came the salute and the school song. Kirthi Rajan of Std XI invoked the Almighty’s blessings on the ambitions and dreams of the graduating batch of Stds X & XII.

The special assembly continued with the students of Stds IX & XI bidding adieu to their seniors, the graduating batches with speeches, poems, songs and dances. The events showed the respect, adulation and genuine warmth that the boys felt for their Seniors as well their gratitude for the management, staff and support staff. They reiterated that no matter where they went in the future or what destiny had in store for them, No. 27, Museum Road would always be their Home.

The ISC girls of Stds XI & XII spoke of how they were a ‘minority’ in the male dominated St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School. However, as the days passed, they no longer felt thus and instead felt like rightful members of SJBHS!

Rev Fr. Clifford Sequeira, S.J., Principal of SJBHS, wished each of the graduating students every success, loads of luck and tons of blessings. He requested them to make their lives reflect the motto of the school: ‘Faith & Toil’, Faith in God and their own abilities and Toil in the face of all the hurdles they encounter.

The Vote of Thanks rendered by Mark D’Souza of Std. XII. The National Anthem brought to a close the special assembly for the graduating batch of 2016.
