Our Children, Our Pride and Delight
Mesmerising music filled the air and joy lit up the faces of Josephites as they trooped into school to celebrate their moment! The day marks the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was fond of children, and whom they lovingly called Chacha Nehru. Years later, on 14th November 2024, the same delight still emanates from children. At SJBHS, from the very young to the high school students, all live the day as children – especially when the Management and staff go all out.
As with all events at the school, the programme commenced with a prayer and prayer song, giving praise and thanks to the Almighty for a good education, a happy and healthy life and all the treasures of childhood. The events that unfolded on stage had the students laughing, clapping and shouting for joy. The teachers of the various units, from Pre-Primary to the ISC section, danced and sang. Through their graceful dance moves, the teachers brought to the fore the heritage of the Indian States; through their melodious rendition the staff sang English, Kannada and Hindi songs to highlight their care, concern and love for the students; and through their video the Management showcased the fact that whatever they do – children will be children and the Josephites will always be precious!
Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ, Principal of SJBHS, in his speech advised the students to retain their innocence and spontaneity and to enjoy the present, forever remaining blessed and grateful. Father told the students that they were the pride and delight of the school and it was God’s plan that had resulted in a bond between the teachers and the taught at SJBHS.
