The long week of examinations, followed by a week of corrections and Outreach Programmes called for much needed time out at the end of July. Sixteen of the staff members of SJBHS volunteered for a day’s reprieve at ‘Break Through’ – a facility on Banerghatta Road for training using physically and mentally challenging activities.
The resource persons, Mrs. Linda and Mr. Jo, went out of their way to ensure active participation among the team members. From zip-lining and tight rope balancing to walking on the ‘tremor bridge’ and indulging in brain games, the team of SJBHS teachers was tested for grit and determination, endurance and patience, fortitude and resilience. Needless to say the challenges were met headlong, conquered and the lessons learnt were stockpiled for future use in everyday life scenarios.
The teachers had a productive day – a day to de-stress, a day filled with fun activities and a day spent in introspection about the ways and means of building team spirit, co-operation, empathy and the lasting bonds of friendship.
