At the Annual Speech and Prize Day for Primary school, the young academic achievers of our school were felicitated for their achievements. All the teachers and coordinators of the Primary Section and Middle School had worked very hard to make this a special occasion and one that they would remember for years to come.
The Chief Guest, Dr S Balaji Pai (Old Boy and renowned Neuro and Spinal Surgeon) and Dr. Ameena Bhanu, our Principal Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ, Vice Principal Mr Uday Kumar, Administrator of the Primary School Fr Alwyn D’Souza SJ, Vice President of the PTA Mr K C Joseph, Secretary of the PTA Mrs Sudeshna Ghosh and the Vice President of the OBA Mr Jyothinath Ganguly were the dignitaries entrusted with giving away the prizes and congratulating the boys.
The event began with a prayer followed by the invocation song, a welcome dance by the boys of Class III and IV and the welcome address by Mrs Lynette. A superb dance drama on anger, greed, jealousy and fear in this competitive world, was the entertainment quotient for the Prize Day.
Our Principal, Fr Sunil called on the audience to review the past and look to the future. He drew attention towards ‘Cura Personalis’- the Jesuit vision of development of the whole person.
Dr Balaji Pai, said it was a privilege and honour to be here. He said that there was no such thing as ‘luck’ but it is the formula of inspiration meeting perseverance that leads to success. He asked the parents to instill family values in their children and advised the students to inculcate the habit of saving the resources of the Earth as the future belonged to them.
