Annual Aquatic Meet - 2017

Marked in red letters in the school calendar is the annual championships for SJBHS swimmers, held on the 10th of November. The venue was the SJBHS indoor heated swimming pool. A mood of excitement, anticipation and a great deal of nervousness as months of practice was about to bear fruit.

The morning session of the championships began with an intercessory prayer asking the Almighty for His abundant graces on the swimmers to be safe and to compete in the true spirit of sportsmanship, keeping in mind the primary value of fair play.

The events, both individual and team, were flagged off with the Free Style events. In the much awaited ISC Boys’ Inter School relay, the SJBHS (Team A) garnered the first place while the boys of St. Joseph’s PU and Composite College took home the silver.

The Chief Guest, Avinash Mani, Old Boy and distinguished national swimmer, congratulated the winners on their stellar performances and urged them to strive harder so as to aim for national and international glory. He said that every gold, silver or bronze medal won carried a history of hard work, dedication and strife as its hallmark.

Age was no bar and nor was the stroke used while swimming, as young Josephites from Std. 2 to the teenagers of Std. 12 battled it out for the coveted Individual championships. The Michael Phelps of SJBHS were hard at work enjoying every bit of the competition as the Annual Aquatic Meet 2017.
