The warm felicitations of the birthday celebrant, Mr. Brian McKertish reflected the affection, respect, and love of the staff of SJBHS for their Vice Principal. On his special day, 12th July 2024 the concert hall was decked in the theme colours of white and purple. The festive environment was made brighter with decorative lamps and twinkling bulbs.

As the programme unfolded with a prayer and an invocation song, it was clear that all that the staff wished for was blessings and happiness for the man at the centre of it all. The Principal, Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ, on behalf of the staff, wished the Vice Principal and felicitated him with flowers and gifts. The highlight, however, was the portrait of Mr. McKertish that the Vice Principal will cherish for years to come.

A senior staff member, Ms. Gowri Mirlay Achanta, spoke about her 35-year association with the birthday celebrant. This threw light on the fond memories of the years gone by. In reply, Mr. Brian said that he was ever grateful to the 3 J’s – Jesus, Joseph’s and the Jesuits for what he was, what he has become and what he will be in the future.

The day ended on a high note with the cutting of the cake by the birthday celebrant and snacks and tea for the staff.
