Teachers’ Day

Away from the physical environs of the school, and now dealing with the virtual presence of Teachers, did not deter our students from wishing their teachers or celebrating the day.
The online assembly collated by our Principal Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ, Vice Principal Mr. Uday Kumar and the Primary School administrator Rev Fr Joel Fernandes SJ along with the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) members, Captains and Vice-Captains of SJBHS and the student volunteers went a long way in making this day, in the year of the pandemic, so very special.
The online assembly was live streamed on YouTube and resonated on other social media platforms: a bouquet of songs, wishes and testimonies from students of the different grades of the school. They prayed so sincerely – for the health of their mentors, for an end to the pandemic and for forgiveness for all the pranks that they indulge in! The parents and students sang, spoke and wished the teachers – the underlying feelings that seeped through were those of gratitude and appreciation. The teachers watched the programme at home, on their monitors – and we hope the images brought to mind real faces, real moments at school and the real joys of teaching.
