Interaction, collaboration and communication are the hallmark of the Jesuit management.
These pillars of interchange have been fruitful in building rapport with the staff, parents and
stakeholders of the school. One such event that mitigates such whole hearted and informal
interaction is aptly termed ‘Tea with the Jesuits.’
Fr Brian Pereira SJ, Rector of the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society, along with the
Fathers and brothers residing at Jesuit Nivas first met with the non-teaching staff of the
school. This interaction was highly appreciated by the hard working administrative and
support staff. This inter-mingling with the Management was a validation of their hard work
and dedication through the year and re-echoed their belief in the adage ‘Work is Worship.’
The teaching staff, too, was highly enthused by the visit of the Fathers and brothers. Rector,
in his address, praised the quality of the myriad activities conducted by the school. Father
said that he was kept abreast with the continual feedback of the events at SJBHS by the
Principal and reiterated the power of the staff to guide and channel the vision of the future
citizenry.
In the month of February 2023, BJES organized Institution Day, a day to bring together all
the collaborators of the schools and colleges under the aegis of The Bangalore Jesuit
Educational Society. There was a five-fold discussion held on that day related to Campus
Ministry, Inclusive Education, Outreach Programmes, Mentoring and Counselling. Rector,
collated all the points of the discussion and presented them during his interaction with the
staff on 20 March 2023.
The high tea was a novel idea and an excellent way of breaking the unseen barriers between
the Management and the collaborators; an informal interaction between the decision makers
and the staff; and a positive interface to bridge the gap between the Fathers and brothers at
Jesuit Nivas and the teachers of neighbouring SJBHS.
