‘The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people.’
To promote and celebrate the different cultures of India – a multi-cultural country - the Primary section of St Joseph’s Boys’ High School conducted a session on 20 July 2022, exploring the topic ‘The State of West Bengal.’ This session was held to foster an interest beyond the pages of their textbooks.
Conducted by our own SJBHS staff, the session proved to be an enthralling experience for the students of Std IV, who enjoyed the array of Bengali handicrafts, different kinds of sarees, leather and woodwork, showpieces, pictures of a young Rabindranath Tagore, as well as listening to the first-hand accounts of SJBHS teachers who were born and raised in the state of West Bengal. The session also included a beautiful rendition of the Bengali song ‘Dhitang Dhitang Bole’ and a video presentation.
