PHENOMENON is a celebration of science, commerce, music, literature, dance, and sports - the SJBHS Cultural & Carnival Fest is the doorway into the world of creativity and innovation. The most sought-after fest in Bangalore, Phenomenon 2024, was held on the newly refurbished SJBHS playground. The excitement was eclectic!

The opening ceremony marked the commencement of the events lined up for students of all ages. From on-stage events like the ‘Battle of the Bands’, Western solo/ group dances and songs to the ‘Movie Business’ (Film making), ‘Pensworthy’ (Creative Writing), ‘PrintMy Soul’ (Poster making), ‘Smorgasbord’ (Food tasting), and the Trilogy, a potpourri of Dumb Charades, Pictionary, and Taboo; the events had something for everyone. The STEM enthusiasts had ‘Egnites’ to use their innovative skills; while the ‘Vend’ event allowed the students with a commercial bend of mind to navigate the market! Box Cricket and 3-A-Side Basketball brought the outdoors, indoors.

The afternoon showstoppers were the crowd-puller events. The auditorium witnessed maximum capacity for the Fashion Show and the Comedy Show featuring upcoming comedian, Pranav Sharma. The evenings, on both days, belonged to the band – ‘Soul Jams’ and DJ Kabir respectively. High decibel music, high intensity strobe lights and undiluted joy filled the air as each new song rolled out from centre stage!

The game stalls, and inflatables arranged around the school campus saw the young ones screeching away while their parents and grandparents captured their delightful screams for posterity.

The aroma of carnival cuisine; the sounds and sights of pure frolic; and the watchful eyes of the staff of SJBHS; ensured that the fest was a ‘Phenomenal’ success, the fête was the talk of the town, and the events garnered rave reviews that would be conversation material for a long time to come!
