On 31 st May 2024, SJBHS welcomed Fr Daniel Fernandes who is the new Rector of St
Joseph’s Institutions and Vice President of the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society
(BJES). Fr Daniel is not a new face to many of the staff members as he had served as
Principal of SJCC for over two decades and resided in Jesuit Nivas for close to 25 years.
With his vast experience in higher education combined with a calm and patient
demeanour, Fr Daniel is the right person in the right place.
Fr Sunil Fernandes, Principal of SJBHS, in his address welcomed Fr Daniel and
enumerated the various skills of the new rector with special mention of the Rector’s HR
and PR skills. Fr Daniel was felicitated with a shawl and a planter.
In his address, Fr Daniel congratulated the staff on the 100% results at the Boards and
owed it to the commitment of the teachers. Father said that SJBHS is a role model to
other schools in the country. Fr Daniel also re-iterated that being a Jesuit Institution, the
staff should make Jesuit ethos as their very own and translate it to the students. The
Rector concluded his address by wishing all the very best for the year ahead!
