Meraki 2024

Learning Through Art and Craft

Meraki, which means ‘soul of art and creativity’ in the Greek language, was celebrated at SJBHS with a breathtaking Annual Art and Craft Exhibition held on 9th and 10th August, 2024. It left behind strong memories in radiant colours.

The exhibition was attended by over 600 students including educational institutions like Sacred Hearts Girls' High School, St Euphrasia's High School, Jesuit institutes and government schools.

The exhibition halls were the venue for paintings in vivid hues, meticulously carved sculptures and handmade crafts. Each piece told a story on themes ranging from culture and nature to abstract concepts.

Adding to the colourful spectacle were the vigorous performances of performing arts. The Western and Indian bands set the stage alight with their harmonious melodies and graceful dancers enthralled with elegant movements.

The presence of our Chief Guest, Mr Shibu Arakkal (Old Boy batch of 1992) and Guest of Honour Mr Gautham Bansal, a renowned charcoal artist, added a special charm to the event. The live demonstration of charcoal art by Mr Bansal was nothing short of magical, as he skilfully transformed a blank canvas before our eyes.

Meraki was a celebration of art and culture and helped us connect and learn through art.
