Memorial Service

On the 25th of January 2024, the staff and students of SJBHS gathered, in grief, to mourn the death of one of their very own, Mr. Nickson U. The huge audience, online and offline, was testimony to the love, affection and regard for ‘Nicky Sir’ as a person, a teacher, a colleague, a mentor, an advisor, a friend, a guide and so much more.

The school came together to celebrate his life, to console each other and to cherish the beautiful person that we would miss for a long time to come.

The memorial service encapsulated the essence of the soul; put into perspective the far-reaching impact on the staff and students; and re-iterated the indelible mark left by Mr. Nickson. Through prayer, song and speeches by the Principal, the Vice Principal, the teachers and the students, the memorial service put on record the legacy of hard work, perseverance, purpose, grit and determination left behind by the much- loved teacher and friend.

A video presentation of the ever-smiling, ever-radiant and ever-joyous Nickson Sir left a lasting impression of the man that was and would ever be – etched forever in the mind’s eye.
