The first Mass at St Joseph’s Boys’ High School Chapel was held on 10 June 2022 to celebrate the return to near normalcy, to thank the Almighty for His graces and for fervent prayers for protection and blessings during the academic year 2022-2023.
The Mass of the Holy Spirit was a concelebrated Mass with eight priests gracing the altar. However, the main celebrant Fr Adrian Mascarenhas is no stranger to the school. Being an alumnus of SJBHS, Fr was the apt person to preach to the students, to advise them on the vision that they should have for their future and to help them to intercede to the Holy Spirit for the seven gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety and fear of the Lord.
The Mass, with its prayers, hymns, sermon and intercessions, was solemn and serene. The atmosphere poignant with silent prayers for a peaceful tomorrow, a better year ahead and a future without the dreaded contagion.
