Loyola Technology Centre (LTC)

STEM & SJBHS: Off to a Start

The LTC webinar held on 20 August 2022 was a soft launch on an online platform to inform the parents and well-wishers about the inauguration of the new centre, its usefulness in an ever-developing science environment and the primary purpose of allowing for a hands-on experience for the stakeholders of SJBHS.

The webinar, moderated by Mr Stephen Nebu, LTC in-house consultant, commenced with a prayer followed by the welcome address by Ms Asha Sundarajan, the Director of the Centre.

With STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) education garnering adequate interest among the students of the school, the LTC premises would be open to innovation, interest generation and learning by doing. The lead sponsor of this magnanimous programme, Mr Thomas Thekkethala, spoke on the occasion.

In his address, he elaborated on a myriad of topics from innovation and creativity, use of electricity and the improvement of the society because of the developing technology while including the use of solar energy as well. He also spoke about his inspiration, the vision and mission of the STEM lab.

The main objective was to spread awareness to parents and alumni of the school, about the new program LTC-STEM education. The online webinar did just that as Mr Thekkethala fielded a number of questions in the Q&A session that followed. The webinar ended with the Vote of thanks on the online platform.

However, there session ended in an assurance that the offline visits to the lab would continue in the days to follow. Link: https://youtu.be/8Uv7Rc7B4Nk
