LKG Orientation Programme 2021-22

The Orientation Programme for the parents of the newly admitted LKG students was held on 10 July, 2021 with Dr. Debmita Dutta (Parenting and Wellness Consultant) as the resource person. Even though the programme was held on a virtual platform, the guests were warmly welcomed into the school community. Miss Gauri Achanta, a senior staff member, ran the parents through a slide presentation, showcasing the legacy and history of St Joseph’s Boys’ High School.
Our Principal, Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ, assured the parents of the total commitment of the staff to the all-round development of the child.
The Orientation Programme started with the Primary School Administrator, Fr Vishal D’Souza SJ, welcoming the speaker.
With online classes being the new normal due to the pandemic, Dr. Debmita Dutta started the session with guiding the parents on how to prepare their child for a virtual classroom. She stressed on the need to remove obstacles and distractions and build attention and focus for the online classes. She also suggested having a calm and comfortable environment, thereby leaving no room for fear and anxiety which would hinder the learning of the child. The need for a heathy breakfast and proper routine was also mentioned.
The pre-primary coordinator gave a detailed insight on the design of the curriculum which was in tandem with the Jesuit principle of Cura personalis. The programme ended with a Q&A session.
