‘Science for economy’, the intricacies of ‘magnetic-levitation’ and ‘oobleck – solid or liquid substance’! These were just some of the exciting exhibits on display at the middle school Science Exhibition – Infinity. Newton’s theories were questioned, Einstein’s philosophy probed and all in all science was made a whole lot more interesting for the students of SJBHS!
Held on 8th November, 2019, tt showcased the innovative ideas and talents of the students of Stds 5 & 6 in the fields of Science, Math, Computers and Art.
Fr. Sunil Fernandes SJ, Principal, Fr. Alwyn D’Souza SJ Administrator of the Primary Section and guests, Dr Rupa Nair, PhD in Biotechnology specialized in Entomology; Dr Madhavan Varadarajan, Theoretical Physicist; and Mr Jyotinath Ganguly Director Capgemini, were impressed by the hard work and dedication of our budding scientists, mathematicians and artists.
Renewable and non-renewable sources of energy were highlighted with stress laid on the importance of using alternative sources of energy.
Projects on the saving the environment using smoke absorbers, methods of disposal of e-waste, alternative ways of waste - management, procedures to undertake urban gardening and processes to bring about rain water harvesting were presented.
