After the initial round, the young chefs of SJBHS were all set for the second round of the cooking competition held by IIHM, Bangalore. But, then came the pandemic and the world stood still – not for long! IIHM announced phase 2 of the competition with a major twist – the cooking competition was going online!
The chosen nine students were from classes 9 to 12. The laptops were turned on, the judges watched keenly and then the timer heralded the start to the challenge. Under the eagle eyes of the judges, the students worked meticulously. No external help was allowed even though the students worked in their home kitchens. These young chefs managed to give their ‘Lockdown Kitchens’ a new definition as with ease and finesse, they added a novel connotation to culinary art!
A myriad of cuisines were on display at the end of the cook-off. There was aesthetic beauty in the presentations which appealed to the senses. It was a well fought competition with little doubt that the food industry would be proud of these budding chefs. Amrita of Class 12 secured a place in the finals. We, the SJBHS family wish her the very best!
