Prize Day

High Achievers

Excellence is never an accident. It is the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, skillful execution and the vision to see obstacles as opportunities. Aristotle

Prize Day 2022 celebrated hard work, applauded tenacity in the face of the vagaries of the pandemic and commended determination to do well both in academics and on the playground.

The simple yet impressive ceremony held on February 28, 2022 in the school auditorium, commenced with a warm welcome to the dignitaries which included former Principal Rev Fr Michael John SJ; Principal of SJBHS, Rev Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ; OBA President, Dr Praveen Rodrigues; OBA Secretary, Mr K T Lazar; OBA Sports Secretary, Mr Chrislyn Cardoza; OBA Joint Secretary, Mr Gavin Cordeiro; PTA Vice President, Mr Clifton Pinheiro; PTA Secretary, Ms Priyadarshini Sumanth; and the Vice Principal of SJBHS, Mr Uday Kumar. In the face of the pandemic, parents and well-wishers were not invited for the Prize Day. However, the blessings of all the stakeholders of SJBHS made the ceremony so much more meaningful.

The solemn prayer and prayer song were testimony to the fact that invoking God’s blessings is paramount to all events held at SJBHS. The day, however, was set aside for the achievers. The principal, in his address, applauded the winners while emphasizing on the moral, spiritual, academic and co-curricular development of a Josephite. Fr Sunil said that the management and staff were single minded in their constant endeavour to ensure that the youth would imbibe values of hard work, perseverance, empathy and justice and emerge into the world as individuals for the service of humankind.

The stage was then handed over to the OBA. It was the turn of the JOSEXCEL 2022 awards for excellence in games and sports.

The short ceremony marked an important milestone and recognized the potential in these young ones.
