On ‘Grandparents’ Day’, the tiny Josephites of L.KG and U.KG came to school with their grandparents. It was hard to fathom who was more excited – the little ones or the older ones!
As per ancient Indian custom, children are taught to revere their elders and cherish their very existence. The same traditional outlook is encouraged at SJBHS. To welcome the ‘grandparent- guests’ were the Primary School Administrator Rev. Fr Alwyn D’Souza SJ, the Vice Principal of SJBHS Mr. Uday Kumar and high school teacher Mrs. Gowri Achanta. Each grandparent became the proud owner of a badge stating the obvious ‘Best Grandparent’.
A few of the grandparents shared their thoughts on the joys of being amidst the young. There were song, dance, poem and speech routines by the grandchildren. A booth set up for the bonding session was a buzz of activity as the grandparents and students beamed for the photo op. The joy of being together at school and the ‘Fun Day’ activities is testimony to the fact that at SJBHS becoming a good human being is of something we teach at an early age.
