Celebrating Independence

Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour and undiluted excitement by the youngest Josephites of SJBHS thereby adding to the atmosphere of patriotism all around. A line-up of competitions held for the students of LKG and UKG marked the commencement of the day at the Pre-primary department.

The Pre-Primary corridor was adorned with national symbols with every child dressed up as a National animal, National tree, National bird, a freedom fighter of their choice or in the colours of the National Flag. The students of UKG conducted a special assembly on the topic ‘Independence Day’ wherein they spoke about the day and its importance.

The excitement did not stop there! The UKG students displayed their creativity by making beautiful 3D models of the national symbols with eco- friendly materials thereby creating awareness for taking care of mother nature. Our Principal, Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ; Vice Principal, Mr Brian Mckertish and Coordinator Ms Nichelle Pinto appreciated the efforts of the students and their parents for marking the day with such great patriotism and enthusiasm.

The fun day was one that amalgamated the play-way method of learning with gaining knowledge about the national symbols of India. The day also allowed the little Josephites with the opportunity to bring out their latent talents. It is in such activities that the parents and teachers know the capabilities of the students. These can be nurtured, fostered and cultivated.
