EUCRANIUM 2024

Keeping up with Fast-paced Innovations

Igniting the mind, awakening curiosity, understanding the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ of the universe and developing innovations that benefit humanity while debasing the myths prevalent in society has always been the main aim of Eucranium – The SJBHS Science, Math and Tech Intra-School Fest. The programme held on 18th October 2024, was the culmination of the democratic process that gives power to the students to create new competitions, curate the existing events, and refine the 10th edition of Eucranium.

The events that formed an integral part of Eucranium 2024 were as follows:
Matrix – Math
Quantoverse – Science Fiction
Render – Product launch
Scienstein – Science
Disputos – Debate
Modelismo – Model Making
Breakout – Murder Mystery/ Treasure Hunt
Valencia – Chemistry
Bioquest – Biology

The individual events reflected modern day understanding of the issues, innovative camaraderie between the students and guided the students to step out of their comfort zone to explore the wealth of research in Science, Math and Technology. Artificial Intelligence, CRISPR technology and Space travels also found its way into the debates and discussions.

The closing ceremony Chief Guest for the occasion, Dr Joshua Peter, Consultant – Assisted Reproduction Technology and Human Genetics, spoke on Science as being a blend of technical expertise, research and innovation. Through his speech, Dr Joshua Peter, influenced a number of students to study science as a separate entity, devoid of any religious connotations. Mr Brian McKertish, Vice Principal of SJBHS, echoed the very same sentiments.

Eucranium 2024, a kaleidoscope of Science, Math and Technology, came to an end. Another year of keeping up with the fast- paced innovations.
