We celebrated our first-ever inter school music festival – Cadence, on Nov 12th & 13th, 2019. Given the wealth of musical talent in our school and other schools, this festival could not have come at a better time.
Students flocked from across the city to experience and explore music with solo singing, acapella in many languages, and more.
Mr. M.R. Jagadeesh, the current director of The Bangalore School of Music presided over the show as the chief Guest. In his speech, he spoke about how music takes the role of peace keeper in the world. Our Principal, Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ, who is an avid admirer of music himself ,spoke on the character-building aspect of music, and how it resolves differences and fills our heart with renewed hope for tomorrow. Music has all the power to heal the world, he said.
The ISC Choir enthralled the audience with a melodious song in English.
Participating schools were Bangalore International School, NPS (Yelahanka), Christ Academy, Cluny Convent, St. Germain’s Boys’ High School, St Francis Xavier Girls High school and others.
The prizes were awarded by Mr. Manoj Pasangha, who has donated Rs. 20,000 towards the cash prizes in the senior singing category in loving memory of his brother, Suresh Pasangha, a former student of the school. He shared a video presentation of his beloved brother who was a musician who met an untimely death at the age of 18.
The overall winner’s rolling trophy was awarded to St. Francis Xavier Girls’ High School for Girls, Bangalore for their outstanding performance in all the categories. The news of them winning was welcomed by all with a thunderous applause as they were truly magnificent in almost every category they took part in.
