Birthday Celebrations

A birthday is a time to count our blessings!

On 13 th June, the SJBHS family came together to honour our beloved Primary School Administrator, Fr Vishal Dsouza, on his special day. On this joyous occasion, along with the Principal Fr Sunil Fernandes SJ and Vice President Mr. Brian McKertish were Fr Michael John, Fr Sunith Prabhu, Fr Oswald, the representatives of the PTA and the OBA.

The birthday celebrant was welcomed into the venue. Prayers and a prayer song echoed the intention and intercession of every person in the gathering. This was followed by a specially curated song for the Primary Administrator. It was truly special and melodious.

The presence of our near and dear ones can be felt strongly virtually! A team had put together a special video containing pictures and birthday wishes from the friends and family of Fr Vishal. This was followed by the cake cutting on a beautifully decorated stage.

The Vice Principal wished the birthday celebrant on his first day of yet another trip around the sun! Our Principal, in his wishes, summed up the character of Fr Vishal by placing before the audience the imagery of the sky to show boundless and infinite goodness and a river to show the birthday celebrant’s approachable and friendly nature. Fr Sunil used four S’s to re-iterate his imagery – simplicity, sacrifice, surrender and service.

There were mesmerizing dance performances by the staff followed by high tea.

In conclusion, Fr Vishal expressed his gratitude to God for the gift of life; thanked the staff for the love bestowed on him; and expressed his appreciation for the experiences that SJBHS had given him to make him a better human being!
