ISC Outreach Programme to Anekal

SJBHS believes in the holistic approach to learning including learning new cultures and traditions. In this season of hope and giving, the students of class 12 were taken to Anekal as a part of an outreach programme on the 15th of December,2023.

The students were divided into four groups and taken to four different villages in the taluk of Anekal. The group that went to Medihalli got to experience the unique side of rural life when they helped in cutting grass, cleaning the temple premises and roads. They also visited farms, marigold and rose gardens.

Two groups went to Thattenhalli, where students were welcomed with a traditional arathi accompanied with singing. Some students were taken to a brick factory while others rode tractors, visited a lake, picked trash and helped in cooking a simple but wholesome meal for lunch. They also visited fields of beautiful, fragrant roses of different hues.

The group that went to Avadenahalli got to interact with the labour force at a brick factory Students rolled up their sleeves and pitched in wholeheartedly moulding the sticky mud, laying out bricks to dry and stacking the dried bricks. Their day ended with a visit to a field of colourful zerberas followed by a simple but delicious lunch. Students were all in agreement that the outreach programme to Anekal was one of the most cherished memories of school life.

It was a break from the stress of regular school days. They learnt about rural life and how hard people work to grow the crops which is taken for granted.

The rhythm of rustic life at Anekal taught the students the invaluable lessons about resourcefulness, resilience, sustainability and harmony with nature.

They came back counting their blessings and realised how much they have to be thankful for.
