SJBHS has a rich legacy of Olympians, National, District and State level swimmers to its credit. No wonder for the swimmers, the event is a red-letter day. The SJBHS Annual Athletic Meet scouts for new talent, encourages diligent swimmers and gives flight to the achievers.

On December 13, 024, the SJBHS indoor, heated pool wore its festive look with blue and red pennants at the periphery, colourful pool lane separators, vibrant music, loud cheers and excited swimmers. The parents and well-wishers, in the audience, bore testimony to their contribution in their wards’ success. The events included individual and relay free style, back stroke, breast stroke and butterfly races. The swimmers were graceful and glided through the pool as if they were born to swim! The long hours of practice and perseverance was on grand display!

The Chief Guest, Mr Aneesh Gowda, is a swimmer par excellence and is the recipient of the Karnataka Olympic Award 2024 and the 2022 SSI Karnataka Award (Orissa), to name just a few. Mr Aneesh, in his address said that the mantra for success is, most definitely, dedication, hard work and consistency. As with all sporting events, there are no short cuts to success.

The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony - giving validation to the perseverance of the winners; giving motivation to the ones who nearly made it to the top; and giving the much-needed impetus to the others to be a part of the action in the SJBHS swimming pool - in the years to come.
