Looking Within

Catholic Students of Class 10 had their Annual Retreat at Ashirvad on June 21 and 22. The Retreat commenced with Fr Arun, SJ, the Director of Ashirvad, welcoming the gathering. This was followed by a set of opening prayers seeking the blessing of the Almighty as the Students ‘Journeyed Along with God’ for the next two days.

Sch. Sharan D’Souza and Sch. Pruthvi Rodrigues were the main speakers for the Retreat and they used videos, games, songs, discussions, quizzes, skits, collage making and quiet reflection to help students’ perspective and sense of a deeper purpose.

The Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist were received with great reverence and appreciation by the students.

The non-Catholic students of Std 10 were in the capable hands of the ‘Pathfinder’ group with Sunil Mahajan and Andrea D’Souza as resource persons. They brought to the fore topics such as peer pressure, empathy, kindness and a positive attitude.

Through activities, video presentations and discussions, the students were given insightful inputs. Many students shared their experiences in class and at home and were counselled as to what they could do to tackle similar situations.

For the students of Std 10, under stress for their final exams, the day allotted to relaxation and introspection were critical and meaningful.
