Special Assembly

The new academic year brought in a change of guard – the close of the Principalship of the dynamic Rev Fr. Clifford Sequeira SJ and the start of a new era with Fr. Sunil Fernandes SJ, as captain of the mighty ship at St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School.

To introduce and welcome the new chief of the school was special invitee, Rev. Fr. Arun D’Souza S.J., Secretary of the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society. Fr. Arun addressed the gathering and introduced Fr. Sunil as being a man who was kind but firm, humane yet strong and who loved children. These were the qualities which made him an able leader in his previous innings as the primary school administrator at SJBHS and as the first Principal of St. Joseph’s CBSE School in Bangalore. A

After the hoisting of the school flag by the new Principal and the singing of the school song, Fr. Sunil was called on to give his maiden speech. He told the Josephites that life is a journey wherein God guides, leads, empowers and inspires. Each one must surrender to the Almighty and ask for his blessings. Fr. Principal stressed on the seven C’s of Jesuit ethos - Compassion, Commitment, Confidence, Competence, Creativity, Character and Care/Concern for the Cosmos. Father advised the students to excel in academics as well as in co-curricular activities. He also welcomed the new faculty members.

A speech and a welcome song by the ISC students proclaimed the beginning of the new academic year and the new Principalship.
