Greetings Delegates!
It is my privilege to invite you to be a part of the
13th Edition of SJBHSMUN.
As the Secretary General of this year’s Conference, there is a lot to look forward to. The United
Nations turns 80 this year— indeed, this is a landmark year for all of us involved or even actively
interested in the world around us. With an Executive Board packed with experience and a
plethora of awards, we assure that we have nothing but the best.
The world has witnessed and undergone a lot since we last reconvened for the SJBHSMUN.
The previous year was the year that attacks on journalists reached an all-time high, the “conflict”
between Ukraine and Russia saw new patterns of energy-trade emerge and the United Nations
Security Council had its dominance threatened by nearly all of the five Permanent Members
engaging in conflict, for the first time since World War 2.
Closer to home, we saw the rise in Partisan Politics, especially the growing clamour at the
increment in reservations across States and at the Centre, placing the Legislature at a unique
cross road. At the heart of the State of Karnataka, we see sweeping changes across the local
municipal bodies, with a “Greater Bengaluru Authority” slated to be formed later this year.
This year’s edition of SJBHSMUN shall cast a spotlight on these areas. The Conference
promises to be an exhilarating experience for every delegate that joins us. We promise to show
you through our commitment, expertise and overall conference experience why we are one of
the most respected and most awaited conferences of the year.
Delegates, the sole responsibility, of not only this MUN but also the future, lies in your hands.
Whether it is as simple as exercising your right to vote or raising your voice against injustice
anywhere, always remember that:
THE POWER IS YOURS!!
