‘Mera Bharath Mahaan!’

Fun ‘Independence’Day for young Josephites

Fun day this term kept to the theme of Independence. The day began with the students filling the classrooms, dressed in ethnic wear. One student from each class in the UKG Section came dressed as the national symbol, the national flag, the national bird – peacock, the national animal - tiger and the national flower - lotus.

The students were taken to different classes of the Pre-Primary School and were made to say a few lines on their role play. It was interesting to see them share the facts of our nation with their friends. The children were then made to draw and colour the national flag.

The little ones were busy with their flags, while the UKG students had their own agenda. A student from each class was dressed as a national leader and made to speak a few lines on the same. The portals of SJBHS saw the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Jawaharlal Nehru to name but a few. This was followed by an activity of making a tri color card with tulip paper folding.

The midday activity comprised of a patriotic song competition. The competition came to an end with the prize distribution ceremony. All in all it was a day filled with patriotism and love for the motherland by the junior SJBHS family.
